Sceau litigieux Charles Emmanuel Joseph Roussel portrait de Raymond Douilliez
Ancien propriétaire de notre collection. Portrait de l'ami et mécène de Charles Emmanuel Joseph Roussel, M. Raymond Douilliez, marchand d'art et antiquaire, pratiquant sur la rue Drouot dans les années 30, il serait venu au Canada sans doute quand il a senti que la guerre se préparait en Europe d'abord, et partout ensuite, il serait un des seuls à savoir d'où vient le sceau que l'on retrouve à l'endos des tableaux, avec la date de naissance et décès de Roussel (1861 - 1936 ) il semblait connaître parfaitement l'oeuvre de Roussel par le nombre impressionnant de tableaux de l'artiste dont il était propriétaire, qui à l'époque avait un bonne réputation, mais sans plus, donc aucune raison de falsifier quelques sceaux que ce soit. Les petites filles de l'artiste qui réfutent le sceau appliquer à l'endos des oeuvres ici présentes, oeuvres que sans doute personne ni elles n'avait vu avant aujourd'hui, devraient savoir que ces sceaux furent appliquer en France avant le départ de M. Douillez, il ne serait surement pas revenu sur ses pas, voulant sans doute éviter le conflit, pour apposer ces sceaux.....Normalement au décès d'un artiste, les TRÈS proches font fabriquer un tampon servant à liquider et identifier les tableaux de l'artiste qui ne serait pas signer, par contre quelques autres artistes travaillaient et semblaient occuper ce même studio, tel l'artiste Louis Montaigu. Le mystère demeure. Une piste semble en vue.......
Portrait of Raymond Douilliez, friend and sponsor of Charles Emmanuel Joseph Roussel, who was an art dealer and antiquarian, working on the Drouot street in the early 30s , he would probably came to Canada, early end of 30’ when he felt that the war prepared first in Europe and then everywhere, was coming. He would be the one and only one, who know where the seal is coming from, seals applies on the back of each painting, bearing date of birth and death of Roussel (1861 - 1936), that friend and sponsor seemed to know perfectly Roussel's work by the impressive number of paintings by that artist which he owned , which at the time had a good reputation, but not enough, to falsify some seals whatsoever. Descents girls of the artist, and curator of Berck museum, who refuted the seal applied to the back of our collection, surely been applied after the death of the artist, a way to sell and identified every works of an artist found in his studio, of course that they were applied in France before the departure of Mr. Douilliez for Canada , he would probably not return to France during the conflict to affix the seals ..... Normally the death of an artist, the VERY near persons, are making a buffer for liquidating and identify paintings by the artist who would not been signed, or to identified works done by some other artists who seems to occupy the same studio at this time, artist as Louis Montaigu . The mystery remains…………..
