Ken MacDougall ( 1933 - .... )
Un artiste de Sault Ste Marie, en Ontario, qui peint depuis l'âge de dix ans. Le fils de M. et Mme Stuart MacDougall. Dans son adolescence, il s'est inscrit au Collège des Arts de Sault Ste Marie et est entré au Collège d'art de l'Ontario à Toronto, où il a étudié l'illustration publicitaire. Tout en continuant d'étudier les arts, il est employé par Algoma Ore properties, et lors des voyages d'exploration dans ce pays éloigné et presque vierge du nord de l'Ontario, il prends toutes les occasions de dessiner, il a dessiné les camps de brousse et les forêts. Plus tard, il passe une année à Hawaï où il peint chaque jour et profite de la plage. Revenu à la maison il entre dans le domaine de l'art commercial et devient un assistant du département des arts de la station de télévision CJIC à Sault Ste Marie, où il vit maintenant avec sa femme, l'ancienne commentatrice Nancy Miller.
Dans sa peinture, il a fait des scènes du coin particulier du lac Supérieur et de l'Algoma dans un style toujours très réaliste.
Son travail a été bien accueilli dans les années passées et gagne en popularité chaque année certains le comparant, avec raison, aux grands maîtres Canadiens, du groupe des sept.
En 1971, il a loué une cabouse (voiture de queue ) du chemin de fer central d'Algoma pour une semaine afin d'esquisser et de peindre le long de la ligne du chemin de fer, en prévision d'une grande exposition à la galerie Robert's à Toronto.
Il a exposé aussi au Y.M.C.A. sous les auspices de Algoma Art Society (1960) et dans de nombreuses galeries de l'Ontario. Manitoba, Terre Neuve, et à l'extérieur du Canada.
Il est représenté dans les collections suivantes: Rothman's of Canada, Imperial Oil, The National Club et Royal College of dental surgeons, et maintenant à la galerie : Molinas, Michel & Soucy à Québec.

Ken MacDougall ( 1933 - .... ) A Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, artist who has been painting from the age of ten. The son of Mr. & Mrs Stuart MacDougall. In his teen he attented the Sault Ste Marie collegiate and the entered the Ontario College of Art in Toronto, where he studied advertising illustration. While still attending school, he was employed by the Algoma Ore Properties on exploration trips to Northern Ontario's remote and untouched country. Taking every opportunity to sketch he drew the bush camps and the forests. Later he spend a year in Hawaii painting and enjoying the beach. Returning homein entered the field of commercial art and bacame an assitant in the art department of CJIC television station in Sault Ste Marie, where he now live with his wife, the former Nancy Miller. In his painting he has been doing scenes of Lake Superior country and the Algoma regionin a style of realism.
His work has been well recieved and is gaining in popularity every year.
IN 1971,he rented in Algoma Central Railway car for a week's sketching and painting along the rail line in preparation for on-man shoe at the Robert's gallery in Toronto.
He has exhibited at he Y.M.C.A. Under the auspices of the Algoma Art Society ( 1960 ) and in many Ontario galleries.
He is represented in the following collections : Rothman's of Canada, Imperial Oil, The National Club, and the Royal College of dental surgeons, and now in molinas, Michel & Soucy gallery in Quebec City.
