Pieter Brughel II
Pieter Brueghel le Jeune dit Brueghel d'Enfer1 est un peintre Brabançon de la Renaissance, né fin 1564 ou début 1565 à Bruxelles et mort le 10 octobre 1636. Fils de Pieter Bruegel l'Ancien et frère de Jan Brueghel l'Ancien, il était surnommé « Brueghel d’Enfer » à cause d’un de ses thèmes favoris : les incendies. Il se forme à Anvers où il est reçu franc-maître en 1585. Il se retrouve vite à la tête d’un atelier très productif et a de nombreux élèves (dont son fils Pieter III. Il est longtemps imitateur de l’œuvre de son père, créant des œuvres du même style, et réalisant nombre de copies pour répondre à la demande des collectionneurs (pas moins de 13 dénombrements répertoriés). C’est d’ailleurs à travers les excellentes copies du fils que l’on connaît certains originaux disparus du père. Il conserve toute sa vie le style du réalisme flamand. Il situe souvent ses scènes dans un décor champêtre et rupestre.
Pieter Brueghel the Younger Brueghel called ‘’ Hell 1’’ of Brabant is a painter of the Renaissance, born in 1564 end or early 1565 in Brussels and died October 10, 1636. Son of Pieter Bruegel the Elder and brother of Jan Brueghel the Elder, he was nicknamed "Hell Brueghel" because of one of his favorite themes: the fires. He trained in Antwerp where he is a free master in 1585. He soon finds himself at the head of a very productive workshop and many students (including his son Pieter III. Impersonator is long the work of his father, creating works of the same style, and making many copies to meet demand from collectors (not less than 13 counts listed.) It is also through the excellent copies of the son that we know some of the original missing father. He keeps all his life style of Flemish realism. often situates his scenes in a country setting and rock.
