Galerie Molinas

Valmont Côté  ( 1921 - 2003 ) was born in Sayabec, in the beautiful Matapedia Valley, in 1921. He then lived in the region of Quebec. He died in 2003. Mr. Côté was painter until his retirement in 1985. He joined the School of Fine Arts of Quebec on Saint Joachim street at  the time at 17 years old, it was pupil and student of Jean-Paul Lemieux .

Even if it does not live by his art, doing buildings paintings for living, the artist set up his easel in the countryside, in the Old City of Québec or  the Maizarets park area  or on the island of Orleans, to paint the beautiful scenery of Québec area, a special part of Canada. A portrait of   St André Brother ( St Frère André ), founder of St Joseph Oratorio in Montréal painted by Valmont Coté in 1985, was recently donated to the city of La Pocatière, by his son,  Dennis, and will be on permanent display in St Joseph's Chapel of the Cathedral of St-Anne-de-la-Pocatière.
