Albert Robida
ALBERT ROBIDA ( 1848 – 1926 ) Né à Compiègne (Oise) et décède à Nuilly sur Seine ( Haut de Seine). Peintre, peintre à la gouache et aquarelle, graveur, lithographe, illustrateur et caricaturiste. Fils de menuisier, il avait commencé des études de notariat, mais à partir de 1866, opta pour une activité de dessinateur, illustrateur. De 1875 à 1879, il fit de nombreux voyages d’études en Espagne, Italie, Suisse, Allemagne et Hongrie. Il exposa au salon de Paris notamment en 1868 et 1870, depuis 1893 il était secrétaire du Salon devenu en 1881 Salon des Artistes Français. Il fut décoré de la légion d’honneur. Ilavait débuté en 1866 comme caricaturiste au ''Journal Amusant'', puis souvent sous le pseudonyme de Roby, à Paris Caprice, La vie élégante et Paris Comique. Il fut longtemps un des collaborateurs de La Vie Parisienne. Il fonda le journal La Caricature. En tant qu’illustrateur il créa des compositions humoristiques pour les œuvres de Rabelais. Et en 1885 illustra ‘’ Contes pour les bibliophiles ‘’ de Octave Uzanne. En 1900 il fut l’un des organisateurs du vieux Paris, pour l’exposition Universelle.
