Bernard Mayman
Né en Pologne, il arrive à Montréal en 1919 après une formation en Angleterre à la Liverpool School of Arts. Il étudie avec Dyonnet à l'Art Association of Montréal tout en étant propiétaire d'une entreprise d'encadrement sur le boulevard St Laurent. C'est là qu'il rencontre Bercovitch, Muhlstock, Borenstein, Iacurto ainsi que Jacques Beder. Avec ce dernier, ils vont tous deux peindre dans les Laurentides. Il est aussi membre de Société d'art contemporain trouvant le temps de peindre des paysages urbains montréalais. Il meurt en 1966. Il figure dans le catalogue ''PEINTRES JUIFS DE MONTRÉAL'', témoins de leur époque 1930-1948 par Esther Trépanier aux éditions de l'homme.
Born in Poland, he came to Montreal in 1919 after training in England at the Liverpool School of arts. He studied with Dyonnet at the Art Association of Montreal while owning a frame factory on boulevard Saint Laurent. This is where he worked and chatted wirh Bercovitch, Muhlstock, Borenstein, along with Iacurto and Jacques Beder. Together, they will travel and paint in the Laurentians. He was also member of the société d'art contemporain de Montreal taking time to paint Montreal urban landscapes. He died in 1966.
