Eldon Brockwell Grier
( 1917 - 2001 ) Né le 13 avril à Londres, Angleterre, décès à Vancouver en juillet 2001, il vint s'installer au Canada, attiré par l'effervescence du mouvement artistique Canadien, Il fréquenta, dans un premier temps, Diégo Rivera, avec qui il peint une murale, aux thèmes de legendes Incas, qui fit les manchettes des journaux de l'époque. Parmi ses amis d'alors figuraient, John Lyman et Goodridge Roberts. Il étudia à L'art Association (qui devint le musée de Montréal) et y exposa ses oeuvres a partir de 1941 et ce jusqu'au début des années cinquante. Peintre avant tout, aussi poète, capitaine de l'armée Canadienne, durant la deuxième guerre mondiale. On retrouve ses peintures dans de grandes collections Canadiennes et Américaines, dont la collection Lavallin. Il figure dans le dictionnaire des artistes Canadien par Colin S. Macdonald.
Born on April 13 in London England, he came; to settled down in Canada, attracted by the effervescent mood of the Canadian artistic movement. He initially been friend with Diégo Rivera, with which he paints mural with the topics of Incas legends, which made the cuffs of the newspapers of that era. Among his friends we found, John Lyman and Goodridge Roberts and many well known figures of the montreal scene. He studied at the Art Association, known now, as the museum of Montreal, and exposed and sold there many of his works, from 1941 and till the beginning of the fifty's. He appears in the Canadian dictionary of artists by Colin S. Macdonald.
